Derek - Owner, Pet Care Specialist
Oak's Oasis was opened by Derek Bannon, in loving memory of his first dog, Oak.
With a degree in Zoology from Michigan State University, Derek brings a vast knowledge base and expertise to every interaction with furry friends.
Having served as a doggie daycare manager and attendant for 8 years, he understands the ins and outs of canine behavior, the importance of socialization, mental stimulation, and exercise in the development of dogs. With focus on overall well-being, Derek knows how to give pets the personalized attention they deserve.
His experience as a veterinary assistant furthers his attentive care and enables a keen eye for the health and well-being of the animals in his care.
As a former farmhand and a certified wildlife rehabilitator, Derek is dedicated to nurturing all animals, big and small, with emphasis on patience and empathy when building relationships with our four-legged companions.
Carolyn - Pet Care Specialist
Carolyn's love for animals started at a young age, growing up in a right-to-farm community in Dunstable, MA. She has unique experience caring for a variety of animals, including dogs with diabetes and kitties with CH (Cerebellar Hypoplasia). Her patience and dedication to animal care comes from her upbringing tending her family's small flock of chickens and two horses, alongside experience working as a stable hand and lesson assistant at Apple Tree Farm. She is committed to providing the best care possible for all animals.
